An executable go-to-market strategy is a must

GTM in a pitch deck

A VC once told me how they decide which pitch decks to reply to & I’m sure you skip this in your decks –

“The deck that has an executable go-to-market strategy.”

Include these points to ensure you have the most accurate GTM slide:

1) 👨‍👨‍👧‍👦 Your Audience
→ Have a clear ICP.

Demographics, psychographics, and pain points that your product addresses.

2) 🚚 Distribution
→ Have a plan to reach your customers.

Considering direct sales, partnerships, e-commerce, online marketplaces or other ways? List it out!

3) 📢 Marketing Strategy
→ Have a plan to get leads

This section covers your marketing tactics.

4) 🎣 Customer Acquisition Strategy
→ Your plans to attract, onboard & retain new customers.

(Strategies I’ve seen usually work are trial offers, discounts & referral programs)

5) 🚀 Launch
→ Provide your product’s launch timeline.

6) 📊 Metrics
→ No KPIs? No Direction.

You need to have benchmarks to measure success.

(CAC, CLTV, & Conversion rates are the most commonly used KPIs in pitch decks)

7) 💸 Budget
→ Show how much money you need for your GTM activities.

(This can include marketing, sales, distribution, etc.)

8) 📅 Timeline

Product Development → Beta Testing → Launch

Lay out the timeline for executing different stages of your GTM strategy.

Remember:

→ Pitch Decks have limited space.
→ It’s impossible to include all information on one slide (nor should you)
