Brain Drain

This is how ‘Brain Drain’ helps our country:

As a proud Indian entrepreneur who builds presentation decks for startups (especially from India), I see many talented founders solving real issues, proving to me we have an abundance of intelligent problem solvers.

The phenomenon of brain drain is still very real. But is it really a completely negative thing? No, and the reason is – Remittance (the money Indians send back home)

Foreign remittances drastically improve the lives of the families receiving them and data shows this :

As per the World Bank:

💸 Foreign Remittance to India generated $100 Billion this year  – That is Approx 3.15% of the Indian GDP!
💸 These Remittances are a vital source of household income for low- and middle-income classes
💸 Remittances alleviate poverty, improve nutritional outcomes

While Brain Drain is a problem that the government as well as entrepreneurs should work actively towards, I wanted to present a perspective which is slightly different. Instead of attacking people for leaving the country, we should respect their personal choice.

Maybe even try and build companies that create organic demand for Indian citizenship.

How do you think we can slow down brain drain and create similar opportunities within the country?
